The Multicultural Family Support and Development Program (MFSDP) trains and supports the staff of two metropolitan community/neighbourhood centres over a 15 month period on cultural diversity issues. We assist them to develop activities and programs that effectively meet the needs of families and individuals from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds.
Our goal is for the staff at these centres to become better equipped with awareness, skills and knowledge, which will enable them to respond more effectively to the diversity in the community. With the help of bilingual workers we help promote the centre’s services at a local level, which will increase the use of those services among the CALD communities.
