COUNSELLING SERVICE

For people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) Backgrounds.
This program runs under the Family Support Service.

The Metropolitan Migrant Resource Centre offers free relationship counselling service for couples, families and individuals.

The counsellor provides practical assistance and advice to families and individuals in areas such as: loss and grief, raising children, relationship conflict and other family related issues.

Parenting Service

We are very aware that becoming an effective parent does not come automatically and that parenting young children and teenagers is very demanding. We believe parenting is like any other skill, it comes with plenty of practice and experience. There is no simple guidebook on how to become a good parent.

The service empowers parents with effective child management so that both parent and child feel respected and the children develop a sense of right and wrong so they act with consideration.

The parenting service includes

  • Tips to find appropriate ways of managing and enjoying our young.
  • How to communicate positively
  • Build cooperation so that everyone can have their needs met.
  • learn skills to guide children’s behavior
  • learn about child development

This service is available on:

Wednesday 9am to 4.30pm
Friday – 9am to 1pm
